Wai Nui Starts Racing Season in Parry Sound |
|
Tuesday, 29 June 2010 03:55 |
|
Wai Nui had 3 crews take on the Parry Sound season opening race. And they welcomed home world champ Leanne Stanley from her success at New Caledonia, right in her home town of Parry Sound.
The water was lively and the rain held off during the 13 k run. All three crews raced well. Our men's crew steered by Rich Carson was 1st overall, and our women's crews came 3 and 4. The 3rd place crew, steered by Sue MacDonald, perhaps ran a straighter course than the 4th crew racing with Wendy Perkins bringing up the rear as she steered her first race.
Thanks to all the crews for making it a great day, and to Cathy Doering for hosting a pile of paddlers at her family cottage. |
